When Drake Whitcraft took over the family winery in 2007 his goal was to make balanced Central Coast wine of purity, honesty, and finesse. After a two year stint in Australia with Sergio Carlei, he came back to California vinifying with the same old school techniques his dad used (hand-harvesting, foot-pressing, etc) and with much veneration to Mother Nature herself. His 'Elle's Vineyard' cuvée is a Jura style red with a beautiful floral, mineral, and red fruited nose, and crushable, juicy and fresh palate, made from grapes harvested in his backyard (literally!) Chillable and crushable but also super food-friendly; pair with burgers and grilled veggies for an unbeatable combo.
