Pla de Bages is one of the tiniest appellations in Catalunya, covering just 500ha of vines; the producer Vinyas d'Empremta is just as tiny, but making moving, expressive wines from native varieties to the region. This rosat is a blend of Catalan native red varieties and is full of notes of rose, raspberry, warm Mediterranean herbs, and a warm, dusty soil on the palate, too. It's an ideal pink wine that's meant to pair with eggplant, squids, shrimp, onions, all cooked on the grill, enjoyed at twilight.
