An organically farmed, 50% Pinot Noir, 50% Merlot blend from the very sensitive producer Travis Tausend. Immediate/direct press of both grape varieties, with very little extraction from the skins. Cofermentation in stainless steel tanks. The wine is a pale, pale peach color, more like a vin gris style over a traditional pink or fuschia rosé—notes of pear skin, fresh flowers, and lots of berry characteristics on the palate. Lovely.

Scar of the Sea, located in San Luis Obispo, California was founded in 2012 and is owned and run by Mikey and Gina Giugni, who also own Lady of the Sunshine. Influenced by the ocean, their wines and ciders showcase the beautiful maritime terroir of the Central Coast of California.

Scar of the Sea is made up of ten different vineyards and works with many local farmers each highlighting the land and farmers' approach through sustainable and organic farming practices and as little intervention in the cellar as possible.
