This is an organically and biodynamically farmed white wine from the Emilia-Romagna estate of Tenuta Santa Lucia in central/north Italy, and made from a highly rare grape called Bombino Bianco. In the middle of the last century, the area where this variety was cultivated was quite poor; as a result the white wines made from Bombino gained the name 'pagadebit,' or 'repaying debts' — the farmers of the region grew this prolific grape variety because it was a sure bet during harvest and meant they could always pay the bills. Luckily, the variety is also tasty: dry + medium-bodied, this tasty white has notes of herbs, melon, and citrus.
