Despite working in vineyards since the age of nine, Sergio Arcuri's father Peppe decided to open his own cellar in 1973, selling wines on tap. In 2009 Sergio modernized his father's cellar and started bottling his own wine. Arcuri's 'Il Marinetto' Rosato is made entirely from Gaglioppo grapes grown near Cirò Marina in Calabria. The grapes are left in contact with the skin for only a few hours before being bled off and fermented with native yeasts. This rosato displays lots of earthy and herbal flavors, balanced out by a bright citrus grapefruit-zest acidity to keep things fresh. Try it with seafood dishes like salmon or even a chicken dinner.
