Crafted by Emmanuel and Bénédicte Leroy of Champagne Ruppert-Leroy, 'Puzzle' is a blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. A one-time endeavor, it was made with grapes from their parcels as well as fruit that their friends and neighbors, the organic growers of the Côte des Bar, kindly gave them following the devastating spring frosts of that year. Vinification took place entirely with wooden barrels and demi-muids — no dosage at disgorgement.
