Vigneronne Pauline Maziou of Petite Nature is the definition of small-scale artisanal wine. Maxing out at around 2000 bottles of production per year, these are deeply personal wines hailing from the Ardèche, a central agricultural region in France that’s become something of a hotbed for natural winemaking over the last decade. This is Maziou’s Merlot, fermented semi-carbonic and then aged for nine months before bottling, drawn from vines on sand, granite, and quartz soils. Fresh, vibrant and succulent, without being flimsy - Maziou’s are wines that feel like eating, nourishment, and refreshment all at once.
