For Stergio Papras, the organic movement isn’t a trend he is hopping on but rather one he was part of starting. He finally was able to certify his vineyards in 1990 when it became an option in Greece and has since made quite a name for himself with his wines based on the Black Muscat of Tyrnavos. The vineyards are unlike any other, situated in the plains below Mount Olympus. Melanthia, meaning “black flower”, Ancestral is fermented in a closed tank and finishes in the bottle, creating a crisp, floral experience around this rare variety.
