Outward Wines' bottling of Chardo from the 20+ year-old Bassi Vineyard, located just over a mile as the crow flies from the cold Pacific. Winemakers Natalie and Ryan describe it as the most coastal vineyard with which they work, and the resulting wine is reflective of this: Bassi’s hallmark notes of citrus and salt, with the added richness of ripe-but-not-too-ripe yellow and white orchard fruit. Only 72 cases were produced of this Chardonnay, and we got one: this is a rare bird from rising star CA producers.
