And equal-parts blend of gin, bitter liqueur and sweet red vermouth, the drink's exception staying power can be attributed to a combination of simple assembly and exceptional balance. The orange garnish is non-negotiable here - fresh citrus turns this from a good cocktail into a great one.

Ingredients:
1 oz Greenhook Small Batch American Dry Gin
1 oz Contratto Bitter Liqueur
1 oz Method Sweet Vermouth
Garnish: orange peel

Combine the ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice, and stir until combined and well-chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with orange peel.
