The entry-level white wine from Sepp and Maria Muster in the Steiermark is anything but: a combination of all the white varieties to be found in the region (Sauvignon Blanc, Morillon, Weissburgunder, Welschriesling, Gelber Muskateller), grown on opok, or ancient ocean marl, soils particular to the region—this white wine is cold-climate the way Burgundy used to be in the '80s. Linear, fresh and floral as a meadow, fully electric with acidity. If you like your white wines lean but you're bored to tears with those that all taste the same, this is your next revelation.
