Michael Gindl is one of the few natural winemakers in the Weinviertel, the northeastern Austrian subregion that's as close to Bratislava in Slovakia as it is to Vienna. It's a wide, flat, open region dedicated to agriculture over anything else; Gindl's farm has been in his family since the beginning of the 19th century. This is a fresh, bright skin-contact white wine, based off of Grüner but with very, very aromatic Gelber Muskateller and Riesling blended in. If zesty, pretty, heady aromas are you thing, this is definitely a white wine on skins worth checking out.
