Massimo Coletti is a cheerful vinegrower and producer straddling two different hillside terroirs in the green and verdant area where Prosecco is made: the Colle Umberto and his home village of San Fior. 'Via Larghe B.F.' is the top sparkling wine in the range, where Massimo combines two specific vineyard terroirs into one wine: the vineyard 'Via Larghe,' with old vines of Glera on clay soils, and 'Borgo Faliero,' his 15 year-old vines of Chardonnay planted on calcareous and glacial soils. The final blend is roughly 2/3 Chardo, harvested at very low yields, and 40% from the old vines of Glera. It's robust and fresh at the same time - a unique reference to sparkling wines both from the Veneto and also those of northern France.
