In 2021, one of our favorite winemakers in the Languedoc, Jeff Coutelou, lost half of his harvest because of untimely April frosts. This cuvée, 'En Commun,' was made 'together' with some Cinsault from his own harvest, as well as Syrah and Carignan fruit purchased from grower Vivien Hemelsdael from Clos des Jarres (a certified organic and biodynamic winery in the Minervois). This is the first time Coutelou has ever made wine with purchased grapes; as such, he wanted to keep it simple and did just two days of cold soaking prior to fermentation. Easy-drinking, vibrant, a bit rocky, with purple fruit and no tannins at all. Pleasing and summer-friendly.
