Sylvain Dittiere, nicknamed 'TonTon,' grew up in the appellation of Saumur, where his parents grew roses. In 2010, after various internships with well-regarded natural winemakers, he returned to his home area of the Loire and founded La Porte Saint Jean, luckily able to locate a vineyard in famed Saumur-Champigny with organically farmed, low-yielding vines. This is his flagship Cabernet Franc, planted on sand, silt, and clay with a subsoil of limestone. Layered, mysterious, forest-like wine, with deep fruit and elegant texture, but also a clear evocation of the rural heart of France.
