Hailing from the village of Clairac in the Hérault department of Occitanie (Southern France), not far from Axel Prüfer in the Orb Valley, La Marotte is the 4-hectare-large brainchild of Julie Thelen and Xavier Auboux. This cuvée, Résiste, is made from a blend of Carignan and Cinsault - all drawn from vines planted over half a century ago - which then undergoes carbonic maceration for about a week to maintain a fresh and lively profile. The finished product is bright with plenty of red fruit, which serves to highlight the depth and complexity developed by the blend.
