Hailing from the village of Clairac in the Hérault department of Occitanie (Southern France), not far from Axel Prüfer in the Orb Valley, La Marotte is the 4-hectare-large brainchild of Julie Thelen and Xavier Auboux. This cuvée, 'La Source,' is made by combining Grenache Noir with Aramon, a grape native to the region and which, when handled properly, can produce beautiful wines with spicy, herbaceous character. La Marotte's version is not different, bringing out flavors of blueberry skins and blackberry pie, along with a slight effervescence. A excellent red for warmer weather!
