The cuvée name of this wine from Iruai in CA refers to the hyper-stylized, pulpy horror films that came out of Italy in the 60's, 70's and 80's; the producer associates these films with the 'rugged and savage' expressions of Nebbiolo that come from the Valtellina region of the Italian Alps. 'Giallo' is an homage to those wines: made from Nebbiolo grown at 3,000 ft. and aged for 90 days on the skins, is concentrated, brooding, and spicy. For those who want to see a strong Cali version of intense Italian classics.
