From the delightful shores of the Neusiedlersee comes Gut Oggau's entry-level red wine, a joyful, thirst-quenching, light-to-medium-bodied number by the name of Atanasius. The wine is just as playful (and sultry?) as the artist's rendering of the wine's personality on the label: juicy but herbal Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch grown on gravel and limestone soils, leading to a gulpable red from one of the more lively producers in Burgenland. Hard to come by!
