We love Gérard Marula. This is is his Grolleau 'Allegro,' meaning happiness. Grolleau is an uncommon Loire indigenous variety that, up until about ten years ago, people would tell you is "too stinky" to make a delicious or lovely red wine, and it was frequently considered too rustic: people often made it into forgettable rosés. In Marula's hands it's totally different: fresh, playful, but with a crunchy sort of texture, a little tannin, no SO2 added, just delicious. We looked the bottle up and found a French wine shop describing this Grolleau as having "drinkability to an indecent degree!!" So, take their word for it.
