Winemaker-farmer Chris Walsh crafts this Pinot Gris from the Heringer Vineyard in Yolo county. The grapes are foot-tread, receive 14 days' skin contact, then are aged in neutral barrels for seven months before bottling. This is the true color of Pinot Gris/Grigio: not green, but copper and russet and pink. Notes of rhubarb, herbs, and fresh berry fruit—but dry. Full-bodied; drink not as a rosé, but as a light red.
