Based in Saumur Puy-Notre-Dame, a new focal point for colder climate Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc, the enthusiastic and charming Frédéric Hauss enters the wine world as a former cinematographer. In his early forties, and in the middle of the Covid pandemic, he decided to redirect into this equally artistic life as a vigneron that provides a greater connection to nature. 'Une Histoire Vraie' joins the ranks of the many incredible reds coming out of Saumur these days - balanced and beautiful, with plenty of bright freshness and tempered by an almost ephemeral depth. Excellent work from a new winemaker on his second-ever vintage!
