Ludovic Bonnelle and Magali Tissot's domaine 'du Pech,' or 'Domaine of the Peach,' has a gentle name that belies the wines. Buzet is in the Southwest of France, not geographically far from Bordeaux, and Ludo's wines show it. But there's so much more here: impossibly gigantic barrels; wild fermentation; huge, cold stone cellar; years and years of barrel aging before release... This is a full-bodied red wine that feels like Bordeaux went off to the woods and learned how to coexist with bears and wild horses. We adore this wine; there's nothing else in France like it.
