Domaine des Terres Promises is located in the wild heart of Provence—no oligarch yachts parked here—between the tiny towns of Jouques and Rians, at an altitude of more than 1300 feet, just across from the rocky and imposing Mont Saint Victoire. Ancient Roman roads run through this region; it's baked by the sun, flanked by pine forests and olive groves. Despite this wild terroir, Pierre Michelland is able to make some of the most authentic, joyful wines we know in the area—and this pale rosé is the real deal, made from 50 to 100 year-old vines and fermented with wild yeasts in huge concrete tanks. It's just the twinkliest, freshest, most tulle pink dress you could wear, but there's nothing flimsy about it. Bravo, Pierre, we love you.
