100% Cabernet Franc from the appellation Bourgeuil in the Loire. Chevalerie is a biodynamic domaine deeply interested in biodiversity; it's not just a cute bird type thing on the label for marketing purposes. Fermented and aged in concrete tanks, this is a fresh-but-deep expression of the variety, less about the vegetal qualities this grape can have, and more about the blue and nearly black fruit it always expresses if handled right. A fine wine and a good one for autumn.

Domaine de la Chevalerie

Domaine de la Chevalerie

Domaine de la Chevalerie has a long, rich family history, which began about 400 years ago in Restigné (located in the Loire Valley and the Bourgueil appellation). The vineyard has been passed through 13 generations. Stephanie Caslot sadly passed away last year but the domaine is still run by her two siblings Laurie and Emmanuel Caslot. The siblings work together to create wines representing their love and respect for nature.

Domaine de la Chevalerie is committed to techniques that support regenerative and sustainable farming. Their preparation of phytotherapy (herbal teas) minimizes sulfur and copper treatment, and their use of biodynamic compost allows the soil to develop gradually in a balanced way. These practices allow for honest, and delicious wines.
