Cosmic Empordà Blanco 'Via Fora' 2019

100% Macabeu, the underdog white grape of Catalonia and the Roussillon, organically grown on white clay and limestone slopes. 'Via Fora' is selected from a single vineyard in the Penedès called 'El Pauet Gran,' planted in 1956. This soft, fuzzy, textural white wine is macerated on its grapeskins and with partial stems for five days, then spontaneously fermentation in stainless steel tank. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with zero SO2. Production is only 2,000 bottles: a special, elegant Catalan white wine from the sensitive and cosmically-attuned Salvador Batlle.
