Giacomo, winemaker at Col Di Corte, was in marketing for the film industry before getting into wine, having worked on some very well respected documentaries including Natural Resistance, a film following a few of the pioneers of natural winemaking, and the one that encouraged Giacomo to pursue those ideas. The project is still in its youth, but you can tell there is a great sense of pride to do right by the area, a region of Italy that has historically mismanaged in the grand scheme of Italian wine. Anno Uno is their youngest Verdicchio, meant to showcase the round stone fruit Verdicchio can display and bright acidity, while avoiding the heavy stickiness that you sometimes see with the grape. A touch of salinity and smoke along with white flowers.
