It’s rare to be able to drink Chardonnay from the appellation of Chablis at such a nice price when the wine already has five years of age on it, which is usually the drinking window you’d recommend for a village-level wine from this ocean-soil-driven place. Clotilde Davenne is a nice, somewhat old-school style producer, meaning the wines aren’t crazy reductive or expensive-tasting. Instead, they just taste good: lots of texture, white flowers, citrus notes, body. A nice value for someone who likes French versions of Chardonnay.
