Domaine Chantal Lescure has been farming organically since the year 2000, after the domaine's founding in 1975. This single-vineyard Pinot Noir, from the site in the village of Nuits-St.-Georges called 'Les Damodes,' shows a bright red and black color with floral aromas of violet, blackberries, and compote cherry; there's hints of mint, licorice and brown spice too. The palate is round is nicely balanced by bright acidity, a bit of tannin and a hint of oak, but the back vintage nature of this wine — nearly ten years of age — means it is integrated and mature. An evolved version of Pinot Noir that isn't focused on primary fruit.
