From one of our favorite regions in Austria, the windswept plains of Burgenland, this is A&H Nittnaus’ cuvée of mostly Zweigelt with touches of Blaufränkisch and Sankt Laurent. This red is just really nice to drink: black fruit, lots of acidity, spice and forest-y qualities. There’s just enough structure in this bottle to keep the wine from feeling simple, but it stays out of the way of the straightforward pleasure of this wine, which is built on the shoulders of the red variety from Austria that is sometimes handled poorly and therefore has way less energy than this one. Pair with your barbecue moments in summer and for dishes when you finally turn your oven back on in the fall!
