2023 was a slow and mellow growing season in Sonoma and at a vineyard like Ricetti, where the fruit ripens relatively slowly even in a warm year, this meant 2023 was a year of necessarily low alcohol, but when it came off the vine in early October it was still low in sugar and high in acid - perfect for the base of ‘Amando el Sol’. As in the previous vintage, Colombard grape continues to be the base for this wine, with Chardonnay adding dimension and weight. This wine is harmonious with a beautiful texture and elegance. It offers fresh, bright, citrus aromas and notes of green apple, and fresh lemon creating a crisp acidity. So good on its own, as aperitif or with lighter dishes.
