Angiolino Maulé’s winery called ‘La Biancara’ is one of the pioneering natural wine estates in the Veneto; nearly 20 years ago he chose to focus on the noble white variety Garganega, which does spectacular things on the volcanic soils of this appellation of Gambellara. This bottling, called ‘Masieri,’ is something of the entry point into the domaine and represents great value. Medium-weight, with notes of ripe citrus, zesty herbs, and waves of minerality on the palate, these are white wines to know.
