This delicate and refined bottling of Sumoll from the tiny producer Vinya d'Empremta is one of our very favorite examples of the grape - only Toni Carbó of Celler La Salada and Ruben Parera from Finca Parera make as fine examples of this rare Catalan variety that we like so much. Sumoll is a highly tannic grape and very perfumed; it's easy to render versions of it that are mean to live for very long time, but this one has a real grace and beauty after just a few years in the bottle. For lovers of delicate Piemonte or Burgundian reds.
