Brothers Gabriel and Simon Scheuermann are sort of amazing in that they both knew they wanted to take over the family winery very, very early - in fact, they did so at ages 16 and 19, respectively (!). This bottling from the Scheuermann family vineyards in the Pfalz is Weissburgunder, known in French as Pinot Blanc, which can achieve a beautiful lightness and minerality in this region of Germany. Gabriel's version is drawn from young vines grown on loess soils, then aged for six months on lees. It is "salty, fluffy, and fresh, with a fine acidic backbone."
