Martin Vajčner comes from a family of Czech winemakers with a lot of history - the oldest written record of his kin dates all the way back 1634! Today, his vineyard is still very much a family affair - Martin and his family harvest the vineyard by hand, and the wines are fermented in his Grandfather’s cellar using only native yeast and with no added SO2. This wine, ‘Dekadence,’ is a light and playful wine - spicy, elegant, energetic with very smooth tannins. It’s lively right after opening, but let it open up and it becomes slightly more  robust while remaining energetic. A good one to age in the bottle or to drink with a barbecued beef brisket.

Milan Nestarec

Milan Nestarec

Milan Nestarec is located in Moravia, Czech Republic (the biggest wine-growing region in the Czech Republic) and is run by Milan with help from his family . Milan took over the vineyard from his father at only 16, and has now been running it for 17 years.

Milan is a big advocate for wine being a consumable art form, and Nestarec being more than just a winery.

Milan cultivates muller thurgau, gruner veltliner, neuburger, pinot blanc, blaufränkisch, pinot noir, and many other native grape varietals. He has been using organic practices since 2008, and hand harvests all of his fruit. In the cellar, he ferments only with native yeasts, does not add any sulfites, and does not filter his wines.
