Mainova - also known by its estate name, Herdade da Fonte Santa - is located in one of the hottest regions of Portugal, but still manages to produce some extraordinary wines. Mainova's commitment to sustainability goes beyond their strictly organic farming practices - almost all of their bottles are from reclaimed glass and all of their labels are from recycled paper. This flagship red is a blend of Alicante, Touriga Nacional, and Baga from Alentejo, an arid inland region bordering with Spain in southern Portugal. Nice red and black fruit, with subtle rustic tannins and notes of leather.
