A rare alpine expression of the Chardonnay in California, Iruai's 'Mineral Range' channels the rocky acidity from the cool climate of the Shasta-Trinity wilderness. This unusual Chardo is characterized by notes of chamomile and other white flowers, ripe yellow apples, and a has round texture on the palate, but it isn't oaky. The winemakers recommend it "chilled in a pile of snow," paired with roasted steelhead trout and soba noodle salad. Yum.
