Most amari are made with botanicals that aren't necessarily native to the places where people are crafting them. High Wire's amaro is different: an homage to the Carolinas, they expressly use herbs and roots that flourish in this region. Main botanicals are Yaupon Holly and gentian root, with wild mint, Dancy tangerine, and Charleston black tea (the only colorant used). The amaro is sweetened with neutral cane syrup, which High Wire produces themselves from local sugarcane. This amaro is everything we think sarsparilla and birch beer and cola flavors should be: like spicy, adult root beer, with less sweetness. Tastes incredible tipped into a lemonade.
