Despite the absolutely questionable cuvée name 'Short Skin,' which is a reference to the semi-carbonic maceration winemaking technique and not a weird health issue, this island wine made from the ancient Greek red grape Limnio is a total treat. Bright red and juicy, but still with a touch of tannin, it's got a sheet volcanic quality on the palate, too. If you're a person who likes medium or lighter-bodied Italian wines, or will always drink a Canary Islands red or Etna rosso, it's time to expand your repertoire further east into the Mediterranean and meet the ancient-and-contemporary pleasures available in the Aegean!
