Fred Jerbis is a distillation genius, though, and makes the spirits most akin to natural wines in Italy: this single-barrel bottling of Fernet shows cinnamon, rhubarb, and dark spearmint; on the palate it's rich, potent, but spicy—the most balanced entry of this dark style of amaro we've yet seen. Worth the money.
