Named after the town surrounding the Dorcha estate, ‘Bistrica’ is also a common word in Slavic meaning “rapid-flowing streams and rivers” which are often found in the forests and Pohorje mountains surrounding the vineyards. Bistrica is made from a blend of Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Sylvaner, all handpicked and all spontaneous fermentation. The Sylvaner is macerated on the skins throughout fermentation, while the Sauvignon Blanc and Welschriesling are direct pressed, making for a bright and refreshing wine with great structure and depth.

Milan Nestarec

Milan Nestarec

Milan Nestarec is located in Moravia, Czech Republic (the biggest wine-growing region in the Czech Republic) and is run by Milan with help from his family . Milan took over the vineyard from his father at only 16, and has now been running it for 17 years.

Milan is a big advocate for wine being a consumable art form, and Nestarec being more than just a winery.

Milan cultivates muller thurgau, gruner veltliner, neuburger, pinot blanc, blaufränkisch, pinot noir, and many other native grape varietals. He has been using organic practices since 2008, and hand harvests all of his fruit. In the cellar, he ferments only with native yeasts, does not add any sulfites, and does not filter his wines.
