Organically farmed, barrel-fermented and barrel-aged Trousseau, the classic darker red variety in the Jura. Trousseau can be wily: black fruit, some tannin, subterranean notes, light-to-medium body, a sense of wilderness instead of elegance. The Pecheur family's version is as classical as they come, so if you want an introduction to what this grape is like on the classic marne soils of the Jura region, give it a whirl. Not a wine for cocktailing, though—make sure you've got some charcuterie and cheese going to really get a sense for it!
