A Pét-Nat from the formidable Bruno Rochard who lives amongst his vines all within a self-sustaining environment. 95% Grolleau and 5% Cabernet Franc grown on schist, pressed with a very short maceration to produce a light pink hue. After a short élevage the wine finishes its fermentation in bottle. With a relatively low ABV at 10.5%, it’s a perfect springtime bottle, full of summer berries and a charming sherberty acidity.

Bruno Rochard

Bruno Rochard is a French winemaker that took over his father’s 30 hectare domaine in Loire Valley in 1998. He worked tirelessly to convert the domaine into a certified organically-farmed vineyard in 2009. The three main varietals Rochard works with are Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc, and Grolleau, and some of his vines are up to 100 years old.

Over time, Rochard reduced the property to about one-third of its original size, making the vineyard much more manageable for just one person. Rochard prefers to be very hands-on, particularly in the vineyard. He is actually more hands-on than most producers we see. His dedication can be appreciated and enjoyed in every bottle of wine he makes. We love these wines and we hope you will too.
