Viola's masterwork wine in his whole lineup: this Sicilian Catarratto puts the lie to the idea that we should be drinking white wines from Mt. Etna to the east (we shouldn't, not really). Ageworthy, but delicious right out the gate, this wine reminds us of the great, slightly oxidative white wines from the Jura—Viola's are like Ganevat in their expressiveness and texture. We can't say enough good things about this wine, so instead we give advice: buy one now to drink (please decant), and buy another to lay down for at least 2-3 years to see its magic unfold.
