Cathy and Frédéric Roger of Sagesse dels Sols are a couple working in the heart of the Loire Valley, in Anjou, where Fred recuperated family vines in 2007 and restored them to healthy working order. The duo now tends a diverse series of grape varieties across the many different soil types Anjou has, but what's really special here is that all of those different soils can be found within just one kilometer of their cellar, so the diversity is really on display right at home. 'Les Gobelets' is made of old-vines Grolleau, a rarely-seen central Loire variety to which we're partial, and their version demonstrates "black fruits, gentle spice, and delicate tannins that linger on the palate."
