Together with Laura Mulligan, our expert guide, Folkways invites you to join our enchanting wreath making workshop where nature and artistry intertwine! Throughout our time together, Laura will delve into the importance of sustainable foraging and local sourcing, identify evergreen and winter forageables, and discuss what to avoid harvesting. Witness Laura's wreath-making techniques and decoration methods, with one-on-one guidance as you craft your masterpiece. Learn to create a sturdy hanging loop and preserve your wreath for the long haul. Abundant evergreens, branches, pinecones, bark, moss, and other natural treasures await your creative touch. Folkways' own Danish mulled wine will be available to taste and enjoy. Join us in celebrating the holidays and the beauty of sustainable design and foraging!
Raised by artists and farmers, Laura Mulligan found her calling amongst the flowers and in nature. With a decade's experience at the certified organic Hickories Farm in Ridgefield, she took flight to chart a more sustainable path. Passionate about knowing where her food and materials come from and promoting a less wasteful existence, Laura is an advocate for sustainable design practices, utilizing only seasonal, locally grown florals from her budding Southbury flower farm or foraging from nearby farms.
This workshop takes place at Folkways Wines in Northern Westchester located at 3 Front Street, Croton Falls (North Salem), NY. Public transport available via the Metro North and ample parking.
