A beautiful mezcal from distiller Jorge Jarquín in the Miahuatlán district, bottled by the brand Mezcalosfera. Jarquín works with agave between 20-27 years old, grown at 1600m of elevation. He mills the agave by hand with a wooden mallet and then cooks it with mesquite and oak. Sabine wood was used for fermentation via natural yeasts. Single distilled in a copper still in March of 2021. Honest, subtle Oaxacan work—this is a deep, savory, elegant spirit, unlike other smoky and one-note mezcal we've seen. A must-have if you love agave.
