Meinklang is best known for their light-in-frame, affordable, nearly ubiquitous wines, as they have a rather large farm in the Burgenland region of Austria, but they do in fact make some rarer / harder-to-find wines as well. 'Abend' is the German word for 'evening;' this red is a blend. of two different harvests - 2016 and 2018 - in which Cabernet Franc, of the '16 harvest had roughly 20% of 2018 Blaufränkisch added in, and then they were aged together in a concrete egg for another 2.5 years before bottling. Deep, dark, somewhat wild red wine.
