We love vigneron Nicolas Renaud's iteration of Tavel (indeed a student of Pfifferling)—fresh, bright bright red fruits like strawberry, raspberry, cranberry—framed with a touch of spice. The palate, supple and refreshing, has depth without ever losing vibrancy, which is really the thing we love about real natural winemakers, but it's not all hot southern features here - there's a mineral structure that balances all that red fruit. It's just an energetic and also refined wine, where the ruddy cheerfulness and glossy candy of Cinsault unifies with the texture and substance of Grenache.
